Turtles & Primates
A dream for anyone interested in wildlife. You will experience several of the worlds most unique and fascinating areas. Selingan Island ("Turtle Island") is one of Asia's most successfully conserved natural sea turtle marine parks. The highlight is to watch a turtle laying eggs. The process is dramatic as they lumber ashore, dig a deep egg chamber and cover them with sand before returning to sea.
A visit to Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary will allow you to come in close contact with the remarkable "man of the forest". It is interesting and exciting to watch as these large red apes, man's closest relative, are astonishing gentle, highly intelligent and will gaze at you with almost disconcerting frankness. Sukau is full of wildlife including the Wild orangutan, macaques, red and silver leaf monkeys, dozens of beautiful birds including egrets, several species of Kingfisher, the Oriental darter which dives underwater to catch prey, swift and vividly colored bee-eaters and hornbills. Undoubtedly, the most famous and entertaining creature of all is the bizarre Proboscis monkey, found only in Borneo. Thanks to their habit of socializing in the mangrove trees along the riverbanks in the late afternoon, they are very easy to spot. Finally you will experience the wonders of a deep tropical rainforest of Borneo in Danum Valley.
Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kota Kinabalu, known as "KK", the capital city of the state of Sabah. Transfer to hotel.

- Day 2
Early morning flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan. Boat to Selingan ("Turtle Island"). Relax on beach before evening watch and assist with egg hatching.

- Day 3
Early morning boat to Sandakan. Visit world famous Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary. Overland to Sukau with afternoon boat cruise in search of Proboscis monkey.

- Day 4
Early morning cruise up the misty Kinabatangan River to Kelananap oxbow lake. Jungle walk in search of wildlife.Overland to Sandakan for lunch and afternoon flight to KK. Transfer to hotel.

- Day 5
Transfer to airport. (Includes: Breakfast)
